| CPPTM |
|
|
Proven
Probably the most important aspect of any coating is its proven application and effectiveness in different environments. CPPTM has been used throughout Miami-Dade Water & Sewer’s fluid flow processing and collection structures. It has proven itself since 1990 with excellent results in some of the most severe environments known. (i.e. Closed UNOX (O2) Trains).
All-in-one-shot, Structural Liner/Coating
CPPTM when used as coating/liner, can resurface, rebuild, and protect all-in-one-shot as a sealed system preventing infiltration and exfiltration, and combating the effects of corrosion. Many times corrosion can deteriorate concrete and risk the integrity of the structure. In addition to the aforementioned, CPPTM perform exceptionally over rebar and for repairs to areas on concern as it boast up to 16,000 psi compressive strength, making it a structural fix.
Easy Mix
What this means to the applicator is that it is easy to mix, no complicated mix ratio, meaning less room for human error, higher installation success. Kits are either 1-to-1, or available in a premeasured unit.
Moisture and Wet Tolerant (can even cure underwater)
Wet tolerant is actually an understatement for CPPTM, because CPPTMcan adhere and cure under water (used to repair seawalls underwater). This is a unique quality that is needed and used in the water and wastewater environments. Very few systems can withstand high levels of moisture without failing. The CPPTM performs well in humid environments (especially found in the Florida closed environment structures) such as closed tanks, pipes and underground structures. It’s great to use, if needed to, while some structures are in service, as it can cure without any effects exposed to splash or even overflow, as long as the flow is not aggressive or pressurized.
Adhesion
Adhesion is one of the most important features of any coating in preventing corrosion for the long-term. CPPTM is self-priming and has among best adhesive properties ever seen by Epoxytec. CPPTM adhere to most surfaces, often outperforming even to mistaken imperfect surfaces or unknowns, and with substrate breaking bond strength on concrete (greater than the cohesive strength of concrete itself).
Forgiving & Surface Tolerant
This is where CPPTM shines. CPPTM has been proven to be extremely surface friendly. The coating can often bridge the gap when unknown environmental control limitations occur (often happening unintentionally), the coating is able to be applied and outperform better than typical surface sensitive competitive products.
Ease of Application
CPPTM can be simply applied by trowel (or an optional spray version), when other coatings require expensive application systems from $20,000 to over $100,000 per sprayer.
High Build (up to 1 1/2" in a single pass)
What this means to the applicator is that they can apply a thick coating on the first time and eliminate multiple coatings costing time and labor, which results in costing money.
Durable & Resistant
CPPTM does not act like a typical coating, rather it can be better categorized as a permanent barrier, shell, or patch. It does not fail due to delamination like a thin or brittle coating could. It can take chemical attack, gaseous or microbial attack, hydrostatic pressure, rooting pressure, vibration and good impact, etc.
Easily Repairable
CPPTM is a system that can be recoated, repaired, and touched-up without complicated preparation - simple cleaning and degreasing is all that is needed. This makes having a preventive maintenance program feasible with high life-cycle expectations, usually just requiring simple visual inspection and touch-up (often just with a brush) when needed. Doing this can extend the life-expectancy for decades with a minimal investment and uncomplicated application.

Why Epoxytec UroflexTM
UroflexTM
|
|
|
Proven
Probably the most important aspect of any coating is its proven application and effectiveness in different environments. UroflexTM has been used in over 2-million sq. ft. with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer alone. It has proven itself over a 20 year period with excellent results in some of the most severe environments known. (i.e. Closed Unox (O2) Trains with less than 1% touch-up after 7 – 10 years).
1-to-1 Mix Ratio
What this means to the applicator is that it is easy to mix, no complicated mix ratio, meaning less room for human error, higher installation success.
Flexible, with 38% elongation
Using a proprietary blend, urethane-modified-epoxy, the product can withstand expansion and contraction, as well as vibration from the substrate without cracking or splitting. 38% elongation makes the product more tolerant to tank movement, steel and concrete expansion/contraction and hairline cracking, traffic and ground movement, etc.
Moisture Tolerant (up to 90% moisture in concrete)
Very few protective coatings can withstand this the often high levels of moisture without failing. The coating also performs well in humid environments (especially found in the S. Florida closed environment structures) such as closed tanks, pipes and underground structures.
Adhesion
Adhesion is one of the most important features of any coating in preventing corrosion for the long-term. UroflexTM is self-priming and has excellent adhesion up to 2,000 psi on steel and substrate breaking bond strength on concrete (greater than the cohesive strength of concrete itself).
Forgiving & Surface Tolerant
This is where UroflexTM shines. UroflexTM has been proven to be surface friendly. The coating can often bridge the gap when unknown environmental control limitations occur (often happening unintentionally), the coating is able to be applied and outperform better than typical surface sensitive competitive products.
Ease of Application
UroflexTM can be applied by brush, roller or spray, when other coatings require expensive application systems from $20,000 to over $100,000 per sprayer.
Self Leveling & High Gloss
This is important for several reasons. The urethane modification to the epoxy makes the coating UV tolerant (great for above ground structures). The high gloss finish of UroflexTM is easy to clean, keeping offending buildup and other contaminants from damaging the coating. Its self-leveling capabilities allow the coating to “wet” the surface properly and fill bugholes and cracks adequately. Also the urethane crosslinking provides the UroflexTM increased impermeability characteristics, making it a long-lasting, durable sealed system.
High Build (up to 60 mils in a single pass)
What this means to the applicator is that they can apply a thick coating on the first time and eliminate multiple coatings costing time and labor, which results in costing money.
Durable & Resistant
While UroflexTM has proven itself at as little as 30 mils in extreme environments, at 50 - 60 mils has proven to be as effective.
Repairable
UroflexTM coating is a system that can be recoated, repaired, and touched-up without complicated preparation - simple cleaning and degreasing is all that is needed. This makes having a preventive maintenance program feasible with high life-cycle expectations, usually just requiring simple visual inspection and touch-up (often just with a brush) when needed.
